Nine Songs Representing for Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day

Shakespeare once wrote, “What’s in a name?” Without getting all historical or artistic, he knew as an artist that names or titles are essential in the creative process. When it comes to country singers, they are professional jokesters in naming a few of their hit tunes. In honor of March 27 being Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day, we’ve compiled a list of some hilarious track titles to celebrate the funny occasion.

Did I Shave My Legs for This?—Deana Carter

Listen up, guys: it takes time and effort to look good. It doesn’t just happen overnight. Women slave away to attain the perfect cat-eye liner and search for months to find the prettiest pair of stilettos.  Obviously, Deana Carter’s man didn’t get the hint and so she sings about the woes of staying with a lazy boy like him.

You Look Like I Need a Drink—Justin Moore

Let’s face it: breakups are hard. What’s even harder is getting broken up with. It’s never easy to face that painful confrontation and Justin Moore knows the feeling all too well. Waiting for those heartbreaking words from his woman, he sings that he’d rather numb it all over than feel that ache. We do not blame him in the slightest.

My Give a Damn’s Busted—Jo Dee Messina

Claps to Jo Dee Messina for giving out the attitude and handling her troubles with sass. Rather than dealing with the negativity in her life, Messina takes her jaded feelings and tosses them to the wind where they should be. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy—Big & Rich

If quirky song titles were a competition, this one would come in first place every single year. The provocative saying is featured on tons of memorabilia: bumper stickers, t-shirts, you name it. Nonetheless, the iconic phrase will never let us look at Broadway the same way.

Being Drunk’s a Lot like Loving You—Kenny Chesney

Love can make you dizzy. It can blur the lines and skew your vision. Heck, it can take you a little off-balance and make you believe you can do anything. Guess what else has that ability? That’s right…alcohol! Kenny Chesney crosses the two intoxicating feelings for one of the oddest love songs in his catalog. (“She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy was a close runner-up on this list.)

All My Exes Live in Texas—George Strait

Oh, George! You, cowboy, you! How many exes that man has in Texas, we will never know. But the subject matter sure made for a ridiculous anti-love track to say the least. Thankful that the king of country decided to stay in the Volunteer State as well!

Man! I Feel Like a Woman—Shania Twain

Before the likes of Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves, there was Shania. And she invented what it means to be the leader of a girl squad. This song is the perfect hit for painting the town red and doing whatever you please! Time to crank up the dial and get down to this country classic.

Fax Me a Beer—Hank Williams Jr.

Living in the future seems idyllic, but it also created first world problems. Hank Williams Jr. felt that pain in this song because the technology advances still didn’t bring him instant access to the drink he needed the most. The struggle is most certainly real, as Williams truly points out throughout this quirky hit.
